In a shocking incident that has rocked the community, two suspects have been arrested by the police for allegedly raping the dead body of a 36-year-old woman after she was brutally murdered in her own home in Sene Bokankye, Ashanti Region.
The suspects, Kelvin Gyamfi and Samuel Addai, are accused of committing this horrific act during a robbery of the woman’s home. Reports suggest that the suspects entered her room in an unfinished building while she was sleeping, and brutally attacked her, eventually leading to her death. They then proceeded to violate her body before stealing her phone and a small amount of cash.
The tragic incident occurred on February 8, 2024, and was discovered by the woman’s neighbors who found her body in her room. Her son, upon returning from school, raised the alarm after seeing the gruesome scene.
An investigation by Detective Inspector Abdul-Wahab Yusif Seoune of the Abuakwa Police led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen items. The suspects, Samuel Addai and Kelvin Gyamfi, were apprehended in Atwima Bokankye and Medie-Accra respectively.
They have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder and are set to undergo a DNA test using samples from the deceased’s body. The community is eager for justice as the accused are due to appear in court on April 4, 2024.
