In this “REVOLT BLACK NEWS Weekly” segment, we start with Zendaya making TV history with her 2022 Emmy nominations. The actress nabbed four nods, including lead actress in a drama series — an award she won in 2020. At 25, she also became the youngest woman to earn a producing nomination.
Plus, Quinta Brunson made Emmy history by becoming the first Black woman to earn three nominations in the comedy categories in the same year. Her show, “Abbott Elementary,” scored seven nominations.
In music news, Cardi B unleashed a new video for “Hot Sh*t” featuring Lil Durk and Kanye West, Lizzo drops her fourth album this week called ‘Special,’ Ne-yo drops his 8th studio album ‘Self-Explanatory,’ and Ludacris promises fans new music is on the way!
Inspired by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ successful “State Of Emergency: The State of Black America & Coronavirus” town hall, “REVOLT BLACK NEWS” is a platform that is designed to report news from the perspective of Black people for Black people.
“When I started REVOLT, I always wanted to develop a platform to report the news from our perspective, from our lens, from our people, so I decided to launch ’REVOLT BLACK NEWS.’” said Combs. “We’re here with solutions. We’ve already heard about what we can’t do, but this is what we can do.”
